Rebrand & Identity Development
Falmouth, Cornwall (UK) is a long way from Seattle, WA, but that didn't stop Lerryn Hotel from seeking me out to rebrand their newly acquired property. Hotel identities are tricky because no matter how cool or trendy you want to get, at the core the brand must be welcoming. This 3-story victorian mansion on the ocean called for something special. The brand needed to possess a notion of taste and refinement, yet affordability.
As with all projects, I began by finding out as much as possible about the area and culture surrounding the business. From there I was able to gain a sense of locality that would drive the design process. The back and forth began and together we put as much precision into the branding as they do to their rooms, adding extra details and paying close attention to every curve. The final brand grasped on to it's victorian roots while embracing a modern script and nodding to the nautical culture of Falmouth.
